Amazon’s House of David has finally arrived—but how closely does it follow the biblical account? Personally, we found it to be an abomination.

In this first review, we compare Episode 1 with the book of 1 Samuel, examining David’s character, Saul’s decline, the historical setting, and where the series follows—or departs from—the biblical text.

Rather than reviewing it as television alone, we ask a different question: does it present the same David that Scripture introduces as “a man after God’s own heart”?
